Founded in 1996 by Swaziland Government
Ekwetsembeni Special School, started operating in the Mid-seventies at Thokoza Centre and moved into the present premises in the eighties. It was rehabilited in the 1990 by the African Development Bank after discovering that the school building was dangerous for human rehabilitation. In 1991 the school was formerly handed over by the society for the handicapped to the Swaziland Government who has up to take full responsibility. The school was officially opened by the Honorable Dr Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini on the 11th of December 1996.
